🕋 Step-by-Step Hajj Guide

Before Hajj Days Begin

1. Enter the State of Ihram

  • When: Before reaching the Miqat (designated boundary).

  • What: Make your intention (niyyah) for Hajj and begin reciting the Talbiyah.

“Labbayk Allahumma Hajj…”

  • Wear the Ihram garments (2 white sheets for men, modest clothing for women).

2. Tawaf Al-Qudoom (Arrival Tawaf) (For Qiraan & Ifrad)

  • Performed upon arrival in Makkah before Hajj days begin.

  • 7 rounds around the Kaaba, starting from the Black Stone.

  • Pray 2 Rak’ahs behind Maqam Ibrahim afterward.

(Not mandatory in Tamattu’, since Umrah includes its own Tawaf.)

3. Sa’i between Safa and Marwa

  • Walk 7 times between the two hills, commemorating Hajar’s search for water.

  • Throw 7 pebbles at the largest pillar (Jamrat al-Aqabah) after sunrise.

Each throw: “Allahu Akbar!”

8. Offer the Sacrifice (Qurbani)

  • Mandatory for Tamattu’ and Qiraan.

  • Not required for Ifrad.

9. Shave or Trim Hair

  • Men: Shave or shorten all hair.

  • Women: Trim a small portion.

  • After this, partial release from Ihram—normal clothes can be worn.

🕋 10. Tawaf Al-Ifadah (Main Tawaf of Hajj)

  • 7 rounds around the Kaaba.

  • Pray 2 Rak’ahs.

  • Followed by Sa’i if not done earlier (e.g., for Tamattu’ pilgrims).

  • This completes full release from Ihram.
